This well written novel written by Arnold Michael is about the birth, life, ministry, ascension and coronation of Mary, Mother of Jesus. Contrary to popular belief, the Christian Bible makes no mention of poverty in connection with Mary or Joseph. Mary inherited wealth and culture form both sides of her family. She was descended through her mother Ann from the House of David through Solomon of the Shepard tribe. Mary’s father was a Persian prince, a descendant of Esther and Ahasuerus, the family that ruled Palestine when the Persians were in power.
Joseph also traced his descent from the House of David, but through Nathan, son of David. Nathan was a priest who trained his sons to be architects of synagogues, hence the reason they were called the “Carpenter Tribe”. Joseph had inherited the lands of the Carpenter Tribe. Born into a family of wealth and influence, the powers of this world were never invoked by Jesus or his blessed family.
Blessed Among Women is based on the lectures of Mme. Mountford of Palestine whose family’s task over the two millennium was to pass on orally this is invaluable information to those interested.
